Connecticut and Villanova met in a Big East matchup that featured two John R. Wooden Award midseason candidates.
Jerome Dyson had 14 points, four rebounds and six assists to lead Connecticut to an upset 84-75 win over the #3 ranked Wildcats. He made three of twelve shots from the field and nine of 14 from the line.
Villanova senior guard Scottie Reynolds had 18 points, two assists and four steals in the loss. He made eight of 15 shots from the field and two of seven from three-point range.
Kansas held off a pesky Texas Tech team to remain #1 in the country with a 59-54 road win. Cole Aldrich finished with his twelfth double-double of the season as he had twelve points and ten caroms. He made six of ten shots from the field.
Freshman Xavier Henry also finished with twelve points as he sank three of nine shots from the floor and six of eight from the charity stripe. He added six caroms.
Senior point guard Sherron Collins was limited to just two of nine shooting as he finished with seven points. He made three of four free throws and missed all four three-point attempts.
