2009-2010 Midseason Top 30 Candidates

Notre Dame’s Harangody, Kentucky’s Patterson and Wall and three Jayhawks head the list

LOS ANGELES (Jan. 4, 2010) – The top 30 candidates for the John R. Wooden Award, the nation’s most coveted college basketball honor, were named today by The Los Angeles Athletic Club’s John R. Wooden Award Committee. Composed of the players who will compete for this season’s player of the year award, the attached midseason list is based on individual excellence and team record during the first half of the season.

Happy 99th Coach Wooden

The Los Angeles Athletic Club and the John R. Connecticut’s Maya Moore Wins 2009 Women’s John R. Wooden Award

LOS ANGELES – The University of Connecticut’s Maya Moore was named the 2009 Wooden Award winner as the college basketball player of the year at The Los Angeles Athletic Club this afternoon. Caryl Levy, the Chairman of The Los Angeles Athletic Club Board of Governors, made the announcement and presented Moore with the unique Wooden Award trophy that represents Coach Wooden’s ideal basketball player.
