LOS ANGELES, CA (October 1, 2019) – C. Vivian Stringer, Rutgers University’s Women’s Basketball Coach, will receive the John R. Wooden Award®’s “Legends of Coaching™” honor in 2020. Coach Wooden’s grandson-in-law Craig Impleman was proud to announce her selection at the Los Angeles Athletic Club’s annual Wooden Award Tip-Off Luncheon. The luncheon features the head coaches from the Division I men’s basketball programs in Southern California. The “Legends of Coaching” honor recognizes coaches who exemplify Coach Wooden’s high standard of coaching success and personal integrity.

The 2018-19 college basketball season culminated with the College Basketball Awards presented by Wendy’s tonight in Los Angeles, where top coaches and players gathered for one more momentous evening. The 90-minute show, hosted by Maria Taylor with Chiney Ogwumike and Jay Williams from The Novo by Microsoft, saw the nation’s top players recognized for their season-long achievements.

The Wooden Award All American Team™ is made up of ten student athletes who were the top vote-getters in the quest to earn college basketball’s most prestigious honor. The ten-player team, alphabetically, consists of: RJ Barrett (Duke), Brandon Clarke (Gonzaga), Carsen Edwards (Purdue), Rui Hachimura (Gonzaga), Markus Howard (Marquette), De’Andre Hunter (Virginia), Ja Morant (Murray State), Grant Williams (Tennessee), Zion Williamson (Duke), and Cassius Winston (Michigan State).
