Evan Turner continued to demonstrate his well-rounded game as he scored 16 of his 20 points in the second half to led #12 Ohio State to a 74-67 road win over #11 Michigan State. He added ten rebounds and six assists. The junior made six of 17 shots from the field and eight of twelve free throws.
Kalin Lucas of the #11 Spartans was held to nine points and eight assists in their Big Ten loss. The junior point guard made three of 13 shots from the field and three of four from the charity stripe.
Scottie Reynolds had 20 points, two rebounds and three assists, but #3 Villanova fell for the second time this week, losing to #21 Pittsburgh 70-65. The senior guard has scored in double figures in 22 of 25 games and has tallied 20 or more points 13 times.
Duke’s Jon Scheyer and Kyle Singler led the #6 Blue Devils to a 67-55 win over Virginia Tech. The senior Scheyer struggled with his shooting, making just four of 19 from the field and three of eleven from beyond the arc. However, he sank four of five from the free throw line and added three rebounds and seven assists to go along with his 15 points. Singler finished with 25 points and ten rebounds. The junior forward made seven of 15 from the field, four of nine from three-point range and all seven free throws.
