Selected by the Wooden Award National Advisory Board, the National Ballot consists of 15 student-athletes who are candidates for the Wooden Award All American Team™ and Wooden Award Trophy as the most outstanding college basketball player in the United States.

The list is comprised of 30 student-athletes who are the early front-runners for college basketball’s most prestigious honor. The list is chosen by a preseason poll of national women’s college basketball media members.

LOS ANGELES, CA (October 1, 2019) – C. Vivian Stringer, Rutgers University’s Women’s Basketball Coach, will receive the John R. Wooden Award®’s “Legends of Coaching™” honor in 2020. Coach Wooden’s grandson-in-law Craig Impleman was proud to announce her selection at the Los Angeles Athletic Club’s annual Wooden Award Tip-Off Luncheon. The luncheon features the head coaches from the Division I men’s basketball programs in Southern California. The “Legends of Coaching” honor recognizes coaches who exemplify Coach Wooden’s high standard of coaching success and personal integrity.

The 2018-19 college basketball season culminated with the College Basketball Awards presented by Wendy’s tonight in Los Angeles, where top coaches and players gathered for one more momentous evening. The 90-minute show, hosted by Maria Taylor with Chiney Ogwumike and Jay Williams from The Novo by Microsoft, saw the nation’s top players recognized for their season-long achievements.
